Johanna Calle
The Colombian artist Johanna Calle (Bogotá, 1965) is known for her innovative approach to drawing and her multidisciplinary practice, which spans from delicate drawings to complex metal wire structures. Calle's works are distinguished by a profound engagement with our culture and history. Her art references traditional learning methods, cultural practices, and historical events. She creates connections between the past and the present, questioning existing norms and systems in her visually unique way.

Johanna Calle studied visual arts at the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá from 1984 to 1989, where she earned her BA in Art. In 1993, she received her Master of Fine Arts from Chelsea College of Art and Design in London.
