"ORAMA raises the light above her head like a prayer for the world’s balance.
She reminds us that even a single light can hold things in place."
This work connects images of the human body, atmospheric forces of planetary scale, and an object crafted by human hands thousands of years ago.
A small bronze female figure from the ninth century BCE Iran stands with her arms raised above her head, as if carrying an invisible weight or offering a ritual gesture upward.
Above her appears the full moon, a serene celestial body whose cycles have marked time, ritual, and storytelling throughout history.
Behind them unfolds a satellite view of a massive tropical storm, photographed from the International Space Station. The swirling cloud system reveals the immense scale of atmospheric forces shaping Earth’s climate.
Beside the figure stands an Egyptian glass vessel from the New Kingdom, testimony to early technological experimentation with glass and to the human search for beauty through material and form.
A small figure bearing weight, a distant moon, a vast storm, and an ancient glass vessel coexist here. Between body, sky, and matter appears once again the human figure as mediator—standing between forces greater than itself while still attempting to give them form, gesture, and meaning.
