Interactions 2026
The Bundeskunsthalle once again transforms its outdoor and public indoor spaces into a playful artistic parcours throughout the summer. Returning works include Jeppe Hein’s popular water pavilion Circular Appearing Rooms and Carsten Höller’s Bonner Rutschbahn. Temitayo Ogunbiyi’s organic climbing structure You will follow the Rhein and compose play (playground) as well as Olaf Nicolai’s three football goal walls Camouflage/Torwand 1–3 [Croy, Kleff, Maier] continue to enrich the exhibition in the spirit of sustainability. Finnegan Shannon’s benches Do you want us here or not (KAH) also return, addressing questions of accessibility and inclusion within art and exhibition spaces.
Following the 2025 focus on ecological sustainability, the 2026 edition centers on social sustainability, togetherness, and mindfulness. The presentation brings together works that encourage interaction and play while exploring image, language, music, and sound as universal forms of communication beyond borders.
