MANIFESTATION OF BEING

In the exhibition MANIFESTATION OF BEING, the essential human skill of writing is at the center of the artistic debate. The young Korean artist Jieun Park showcases her writing performance "Writing, Hiding, Disappearing and Staying", which explores identity, origin, and social relationships, as well as new works on the process of writing and the conditio humana.

Lima-based artist José Vera Matos is known for his text-based graphic works that deal with cultural identity and the power of spoken and written language. He visualizes the tensions, coincidences, ruptures, and the birth of new languages and dialects that arise from the collision of cultures over time.

We show poetic works by Johanna Calle, typed with a typewriter. In her expanded drawing practice, which is combined with intensive material research, the Bogotá-based artist sheds light on important social and political issues such as social inequality, ecological concerns, or the loss of cultural identity.
